Metal-Roos: Welcome to Metal-Roos, Exomnia. It’s a great honour to have you here.
Thank you for having us, the honour is all ours!
MR: Great! Tell us about a little bit of Exomnia, how was this project born?
Exomnia was the natural continuation of a previous project that was never completed. The material remained from that time but finding a new name was a necessity to reinvent what we were trying to do. We entered the studio around that time as well. About a year later, we released Aftermath through Alcyone Records.
MR: According to your bio, there’s a funny quote that says “We believe it to be Melodic Death… but we honestly don’t know”. What’s behind this statement?
Well, most of the music we play is rooted in Melodic Death metal. However, there are influences from a wide array of subgenres that find their way into the mix.
We do what feels right to us regardless of tags and labels.
MR: Last year was the release of the EP Aftermath, how was the reception of the metal listeners?
Thus far, the feedback that we get has been very positive. It caught us by surprise, to be honest. Alcyone Records is doing a great job, and our fans, along with the press, are very supportive. That is something which we very much appreciate.
MR: There’s a new plan for a debut full-length album. When do you plan to release it?
Time will tell. At the moment we are finalizing the compositions that will be on the album. We would ideally want to have it released before the end of the year. We are sure that the recording sessions will commence sometime soon.
MR: Apart from the new album, are there any other plans for the band?
Hopefully, playing some more gigs.
MR: Thanks for the interview, Exomnia! Don’t forget to tell us about your social media to follow you.
