“Fortune’s Gate”, the debut album by the FURIES, was released on October 16th, 2020. But since then things have been quieter about the French band. But now FURIES are back, albeit as a duo at the moment. Guitarist Guillaume Jockey and drummer Zaza Bathory recently released the new single “”Rise & Shine” with the help of ex-member Samuel Charles (guitar, bass). The song is the first in a series of new songs to be released in the near future can be presented.
The FURIES have each invited a guest at the microphone for the new songs. In the case of “Rise And Shine” it’s Alessia Scolletti, known as the lead singer of ERA (“Ameno”) and as a former member of TEMPERENCE. It’s a Franco-Italian fusion of talent that will astound listeners. Mixing and mastering duties were handled by Domination Studio/DGM’s Simone Mularoni, while Labomatic Studios’ Igor Moreno recorded. The music video, directed by Antoine Doyen, offers a behind-the-scenes look at this epic collaboration and captures the euphoria surrounding recording Alessia in Paris.

The band comments on the song: The idea for Rise and Shine was born out of a daydream hatched during lockdown in October 2020. Pictured are amps blazing, Eddie Van Halen shredding his guitar in red, white and black, the California sun setting and an air of freedom enveloping everything. But then reality hit hard: Eddie, one of the greatest guitarists of all time, had left this world. An idol had fallen and FURIES knew they had to pay homage to his legacy. This is how the song came about, which initially bore the title “Van Alien” in its demo version.
The genius behind this tribute is Sam, who composed the song. The goal wasn’t to imitate Van Halen, but rather to capture the unprecedented energy that emanated from this legendary guitarist – an energy that FURIES have always deeply admired – and incorporate it into their own sound.
