Riverstage Brisbane hosted all time 90’s punkrock bands Sum 41 and The Offspring during their Australian tour. It was my first time seeing them live and I was certainly not disappointed. Sum 41 got everyone pumped with their energetic performance. They were led onstage with some classic AC/DC which really got the party started and continued the momentum with some of their old skool hits.

Their crowd interaction was intense throughout the entire set, with awesome pyrotechnics and Deryck encouraging pit circles and really pumping up the patrons. A great set I can say that the boys really know how to keep the rock flowing. Was extremely happy that they played my favourite song Fat Lip. They genuinely left me wanting more.

After a small interval it was then The Offspring who came on stage. The digital media visuals and Beach Balloon props were on point for the crowd  who were lapping up the ambiance of the show vibe created by Sum 41. Dexter and Noodle engaged with everyone and were very entertaining and upbeat. They played a track from their new album, then smashed out acne pill minocycline the older songs that were a real treat for the many old skool fans like myself.

A beautiful version of Gone Away was performed on the piano with the crowd encouraged to wave their mobile phone lights in respect for anyone grieving.  With today’s current undeniable losses due to covid, war and life struggles, there was a beautiful connection made. Another stand out song was by Noodle who performed a tribute song to the Australian punk band The Chats, Pub Feed. It was brilliant.

The Bar was busy, the food stalls smelt amazing and the merch store seemed to be hectic with sales. The outdoor venue itself was relaxed with a hill of grass, it was easy to see the stage from most areas. Luckily the weather was kind with a cool breeze and the rain held off.

Therefore a Big thank you to Sum 41 and The Offspring for entertaining us and getting us that nostalgic inner punk energy back into our veins.
