Acclaimed US rock act Eva Under Fire are making waves in the music scene worldwide with their explosive brand of high voltage hard rock, with their single “Blow” gaining huge attention on streaming platforms and radio worldwide. The track comes off their new release “Love, Drugs & Misery” which comes out Friday September 23rd which also features Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills. To top things off, the band are also featured on the new horror flick The Retaliators which also boasts members from Motley Crue, Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach and more so there was much to find out when we spoke to vocalist Eva Marie about it all.
On the recent success of the band:
Eva: So this lineup has been 7 years for us and we all grew up playing music together in the local bar gigs so to get here on a label like Better Noise doing a cool movie like Retaliators and having all this radio attention is just unbelievable, it’s surreal.
On the release of the new album “Love, Drugs & Misery”:
Eva: It’s our first label release, we had released an album independently prior to this and so I think we stuck to our roots where originally when we would write together jamming in the basement, we were always inspired by different influences and I think you heard that a lot on the record because it was such an eclectic sound and I think we have done that again but this time we really challenged ourselves to include other things that didn’t come so naturally to us.
On being part of The Retaliators film:
EVa: What I didn’t realize is how much I would fall in love with the whole process, I mean everyone on the set was amazing. I met with Michael Lombardi and we were just like best friends and then as the filming continued they were running into more scheduling issues and so Michael Lombardi called me up and said, ‘Hey I know we had you on set to do this small cameo but I really think you could do a full opening scene’, and I’m like, ‘Do you think so?’ [laughs].
