Melbourne metalcore outfit LUNE release new single Left Behind, featuring Garrett Russell of Silent Planet, as the second offering from forthcoming EP ‘The Change Around Us & The Change In You‘ out November 10 via Resist Records.
Left Behind takes a melodic approach to LUNE’s established aggressive sound, delivering hard hitting drums, chugging guitar grooves and impassioned vocal lines, thematically devoted to the loved ones who have helped vocalist Nathaniel Smith find joy in the chaos of modern life.
Smith explains “Left Behind is a dedication to my band and to my friends. To have a positive outlet and a way to speak through something we made together has given me a great sense of purpose and belonging. When nothing else in the world makes sense, we have a common goal and a way to keep pushing through adversity together.
“Having Garrett, who I look up to, on our song is such a surreal experience and I’m so thankful for all of his efforts to make this happen. I remember sitting down to listen to his part for the first time and being completely overwhelmed with emotion.”
Collaborating with Jamie Marinos on production, Lance Prenc with additional drum engineering and Buster Odeholm on the mix and master, the quartet are gearing up to release their fierce new collection with an all star team behind them on ‘The Change Around Us & The Change In You’.
Exploding out of Melbourne with a sound well beyond their years, LUNE combines the experience of members’ formerly of I, Valiance and Blind Oracle with innovative experimental exploration. LUNE is Nathaniel Smith on vocals, Krys Smith on guitar, Harrison Mills on drums and David Freeland on bass.
Launching with the debut single Ghost in November of 2019, LUNE immediately earned themselves a passionate and dedicated fanbase over their ability to connect with listeners through their vulnerable and expressive lyricism, providing therapeutic catharsis for both artist and audience.
Their lyricism and expert musicianship has seen LUNE jump from strength to strength, skyrocketing digital streams to over 1M since inception and summoning the attention of heavyweight tastemakers across the nation. The steadfast four-piece joined the Destroy All Lines roster in 2021 and celebrate their recent signing to established independent record label, Resist Records, home to Polaris, Pridelands and Mirrors among others.
With a plethora of achievements already under their belt, LUNE find themselves embarking on a bright future as one of Australia’s finest heavy acts.
