H Train – No Title (EP Review)

There is almost nothing written about the 4 pieces known as H Train, hailing from Sydney… well almost! Except for their own mini-biography.

They refer to their music as Progressive Rock.

I suppose to a certain extent that is where they are heading but no different to Grunge, they are representing a seriously good brand of metal. With a melodic influence, bludgeoned bass, off-tempo percussion, and funky metal-driven riffs.

All interspersed with tormented raspy vocals. It’s all music to my ears.

To be perfectly honest, I think as far as first releases are concerned this is up there with one of the best. If you sit back and listen to it over and over you get the impression the style of music, the power, and the tightness of this outfit wouldn’t look out of place playing large outdoor stadiums.

All the songs are good and it’s an EP (if released to the public) well worth any money. I mean 4 songs and just a tad under 30mins. If you can’t get a hold of the EP and you live in Sydney, do yourself a favor (sorry to pull a Molly Meldrum out) and go and see these guys. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
