Nobody’s Fool – Time (Album Review)

Nobody's Fool - Time

Originating from Sydney, Australia in the early 2000’s – Nobody’s Fool has cultivated a bold, street-ready rock ‘n roll sound reminiscent of artists like KIX, LA Guns, Skid Row, and the pioneering spirit of earlier artists like Blue Cheer. Their music features a combination of fierce riffs, classic lead guitar work, dynamic vocals, and lyrics infused with the spirit of rebellion. Their latest release “Time” is one of the greatest rock n roll releases I’ve heard in decades. The opening track “Cherrie” will take the listener back to the early 90’s when the hair metal scene was transitioning over to a more abrasive ‘street metal’ sound prior to the onset of grunge – instrumentally reminiscent of artists like Dangerous Toys, LA Guns, Shotgun Messiah (“Second Coming” album, specifically), etc. As a whole, the opening track will immediately take the listener back to the KISS “Revenge” era. This spirit continues with tracks like “Time,” “Call it Love,” and “On the Road.” At different points in the album I was reminded of the early 90’s supergroup, HEAVY BONES – and others reminded me of ROXX GANG and LILLIAN AXE. All in all, this is a superb classic street rock/metal release – and in all ways outshines a number of groups seeking to produce a cheap imitation.
