Right from the start, French metal outfit ODC takes you on a fast-paced rollercoaster ride of Heavy rock and heavy metal. Now, this is a new single that follows on from 2019’s EP Ending the Boredom they have had a few singles out prior to this and I highly recommend you go check them out on the streaming service of your choice. It’s a heady mix of Killing Joke tribal-like rhythms and modern power metal and an undeniable helping of funk. As yet no full-length albums but with music like this single you can only imagine how good a full outing will be.
Celia Do has a mesmerizing and enthralling voice; her vocal on this is so addictive. It pushes you away and pulls you back in over and over again. The way she moves from styles is epic. The lyric is very apt for the track a see-sawing story of passion and loss that bounces on the music and nestles in its dark stark saw tooth angularity with ease. She sits in great company Maria Brink, (In This Moment Skin) Skin (Skunk Ananasie) and SKYND all 3 are a powerful woman who makes modern hard heavy music with Funky grooves and stark contrasting rhythmic devices.
In this world of uncertainty, there is always one constant and that’s great music and the amazing people who make it happen. I know for a fact that this band led by a mercurial talent will really go places.
