Perth rising metal stars INFINITE EXILE kicked off 2022 with a brand new song & video ‘War Is Here‘ earlier in the year which received a lot of attention including coverage from Scenezine, Amnplifiy, Subculture Entertainment, Metal-Roos and airplay from numerous local radio stations across Australia and beyond and even a video reaction from Local Band Smokeout.

Subhuman is a story of a man who is screaming in to the void and questioning his purpose and his own humanity. Expecting to hear answers from a compassionate and loving creator, he instead is met with the fury of a God that looks down on him as being less than he is, Subhuman. The two battle, and as the man is savaged by his God he realises that it is only himself who can dictate his future and the path of his own life.
On the new single “Subhuman’, the band comments: “This track is the first time we’ve written something conceptually, and we wanted the music to create a tapestry that we could use to tell the story. The music carries the story, increasing in intensity during pivotal parts of the narrative. The vocals bounce off of themselves, with our singer lending his voice to both characters and building in intensity until reaching a roaring bridge and final chorus at the end of the track. We then had artwork and accompanying lyric video commissioned that we felt matched the tone of the music and tied the whole single together, giving the listener a platform to visualise the story happening as they hear the track.”
Heavily inspired by the world around them, the band draws creative inspiration from the likes of Machine Head, Architects and Gojira but blend it with modern progressive elements and mixed in a way that gives the music a unique and timeless sound. Tight eclectic rhythm guitars, groovy intricate basslines, and explosive drumming, all combining to create the backdrop for aggressive and saturating vocals.
