PsychoWard - Committed

PsychoWard’s newest album is nothing short of impressive! As a huge fan of John Ward’s music, I was incredibly excited to hear this. This album is a throw-back to the nasty and aggressive traditional heavy metal of the late 1980’s with a touch of street metal. Zero posturing – this is the real deal! The album opens with the straight-in-your-face track, “Crazy Angel.” This song took me back to Howe-Era Metal Church – thinking back to the first time I heard “Blessing in Disguise.” Ward is nothing short of amazing in his vocal range and the sheer power behind it. The album continues in this direction, and “Champions” brings a truly 1980’s-driven motivation into the heart of the listener. “What Am I Doing Wrong” takes the listener through a progressive musical journey, reminiscent of Iron Maiden in its instrumentality and utterly outstanding guitar work – and again, coupled with Ward’s powerful vocals. “One More for the Road” stuck out in my mind due to the instrumental opening and the true rock n’ roll vibe it carried throughout the duration of the song. All in all, this album is a true heavy metal roots album – there is something in here for everyone, but the true heavy metal fan will find great enjoyment in this release.
