Rovar – Rovar (EP Review)

Rovar

While you cannot say that German Hard rockers Rovar are re-inventing the wheel in terms of hard rock, you cannot deny their skills as musicians and composers. A versatile band that is blending a soulful tone, heavy driving guitar riffs and a timeless style of hard rock there is not much to fault with this release.

Jumping straight in with On My Track, straight away you are taken into Rovar’s world with heavy riffs, a driving bassline and fast drumming that takes the track to a perfect pace. Once singer Luca’s vocals kick in, you are able to see just what Rovar are all about. Guitars that sing, a rhythm section that stands out with over-powering and vocals that are smooth as they are strong, by the time the next track Don’t Look Back kicks in, you know you won’t be looking back. There is no doubt this band understands how to write a catchy song and as you go from track to track, you will see the range of their skills.

From a production standpoint as well, no fault can be found. The beautiful guitar tone, incredible mixing and with every sound highlighted and shown to its full potential- this is one of those releases that you will find yourself listening to time and time again. Not going to lie, the first thing that came to mind for me was this would be the perfect EP to point on when you are going for a drive. Those guitar riffs just really have that old school rock, open road feels. If you like classic, hard rock, then do not look past this release by Rovar.
