SHATTERFACE Releases Lyric Video For “Sand And Blood”

SHATTERFACEFollowing the successful release of their single Eternal Nothing, Sydney digital death metallers Shatterface are looking to see out 2023 with unyielding intention. They released the lyric video for Sand And Blood, the song that closes their recently released E.P Anodize.

The band says “The video is an independent production using carefully sourced visual assets chosen specifically on their metaphorical merits.” It was edited by the members of Shatterface and features familiar digital elements that are the signature of the band’s visual style, but there are also features that will be new to fans. “The palette and colouring of the scenes are well thought out and deliberately chosen,” explains vocalist, Rob. “Cold images of industrial technology and dystopian breakdown are shown in monochrome which transposes back into vibrant colour gain warmth once we see the first human survivor walk into frame.”

Shatterface had a calculated vision to create a universe in the sci-fi spectrum of fiction and carefully placed the video’s images in line with the context of Sand And Blood’s lyrics to build intrigue and deliver a full scale product on a limited budget. Lyrically, Sand And Blood tells the tale of war within ourselves, as the fight and clash manifests into the form of a larger, external enemy.
