Omega Inifinity – Solar Spectre (Album Review)

Omega Inifinity’s much-anticipated debut album does not disappoint. The band is a collaboration of two great death metal minds – Tentakel P.

of Enmerkar and Todgelichter, and Xeonyr of Ne Obliviscaris – so it was inevitable that an absolute ripper of an album would result!

Omega Inifinity’s ‘Solar Spectre’ follows the tails of the planets in our solar system. Beginning with the introductory track Uranus. The mood is set as the brooding atmospheric instrumental track gets the album underway. Track’s two, three, four and five are Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Sol.

Solar Spectre is a cosmic journey through our solar system – to the beat of extreme metal. There is a certain eeriness to the album that cannot be conveyed in clumsy words.

Go listen to the album and you will understand what this means.

Track six is the best on the album, in my view. Neptune is a colossus in the centre of the album which protrudes ritualistic darkness!

The remaining tracks on the album are Saturn, Terra, Mercury and Hosannas from the Basements of Hell. All in all, Solar Spectre is a well-rounded album. When I first listened to the album I was a little sceptical of the atmospheric black metal sound the band had produced, however, I have grown to enjoy each track as part of a whole! This album is for fans of Akhlys and Abigor.
