Voros give us a Compilation titled The Sky Burial EPs. The album is six songs long but is broken up into three parts. Despite the strange title and layout of the album, that is where the oddness ends as this is one hell of a good album. Absolutely brilliant. This has everything you could want, all finished off nicely with some ultra-high standard if sound production. There really is so much to like about this band, who make listening to their music easy, enjoyable, and interesting. Not to mention some unstoppable headbanging moments.
The sound is probably best described as groove/death metal but there are other forces at play here with the track Archaic Persuasion right out of the extreme progressive style with a real nod towards the band Meshuggah in my opinion. Such an excellent song with a real unique rhythm and timing and quite a departure from the other tracks on here, which is a nice bonus to the overall package.
Some of the riffs and grooves on here are just so good I really can’t believe I am listening to a debut effort. They sound like they are performed by a very experienced well-tuned outfit.

Those riffs are rolled out by Cameron Dodds and Davin Buttery on guitars. They really are a top-notch double ax attack! But this band doesn’t just rely on the guitars to do all the heavy lifting as Josh Lamont on bass and Liam Weedall on drums keep up the high standard to ensure each song has a great sound with all the components coming together. Some of Liam’s timings and beats are very different and interesting and at other times are just flat-out fast. Ty Braithwaite is the vocalist and has a good growl but with plenty of shades to it depending on what level of aggression is called for. His voice a just another instrument in the complete package that is the sound of Voros.
I have already spoken about the excellence of the song Archaic Persuasion with the other absolute standout being Pollaxe.

What a ripper of a song this is, and would firmly belong on any of the classic albums of the genre. Awesome catchy riffs, a song you want to play over and over again.
Voros has impressed me greatly with this album of EPs. It is just simply brilliant and I cannot pick a fault with this and will be definitely keeping my eye out for future releases by them. A very easy album to review. Absolutely recommended.
