TRACES return after two years writing in lockdown with the launch of their new single entitled ‘Crown of Thorns‘ on Friday January 21! Pre-Save the single now!
The first taste of their long awaited upcoming album ‘Red’. The band will be taking their new single out on the road in February for an intimate headline tour – with all details at www.tracesbandofficial.com/crowntour.
Crown of Thorns, out 21st January, is an independently released cyber-metalcore hit! Completely self-produced and recorded by the band and mixed and mastered by vocalist Jack Pallett, it keeps with their D.I.Y theme. The single is accompanied by a music video shot, directed and edited entirely by members of the band. The single dives headfirst into Traces’ upcoming album Red’s theme of toxic relationships and the trauma and after effects experienced from those connections.
Pallett adds “Crown of Thorns is an open letter to narcissists, especially those who avoid facing themselves by living a lie and believing their own delusions of grandeur, desperately trying to drag others into their fantasy and silencing those that speak up. Often in relationships and connections with these types of people you are unable to speak truthfully and confront them out of fear, be it of being assaulted, gas lit, emotionally blackmailed or suffering other kinds of abuse. The song is our attempt at saying what we feel everyone who’s a victim of these kinds of relationships wants and needs to say but can’t.”
Traces have stayed quiet for some time like the rest of us coping with the difficulties of life in the pandemic. The band has come out the other side with an album made from the need we all have to survive another day. It will see its release later in 2022.
Until then, new single Crown of Thorns will be available on all digital and streaming platforms January 21st and be able to see the track live as they perform it across Australia in February with support from Relapse and Druid. They will visit Brisbane, Wollongong, Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle. Just prior to the tour kick off, they will play their hometown Tamworth for a special release show on the 30th January at The Press.
