It was a great year for UNDERTOW. The trade press celebrated the current album “BIPOLAR” and the live concerts culminated at METAL HAMMER PARADISE. Therefore, at the end of the year, the “most underrated, best whatever metal band in the world” just says thank you and sends a thoughtful, calm video out into the world: “I Remain” from the current album. UNDERTOW have been around since November 1993 and are one of the longest-lasting bands in the German metal scene. UNDERTOW plays metal. Not in the sense of heavy-, true-, speed-, prog-, new- or whatever-metal, but in the sense of aggressive guitar music, cliché-free, relaxed, straight and energetic. The band’s trademarks have always been melodious songs and highly recognizable structures.
The band has performed more than 500 gigs, presenting their live material to international audiences, including performances with Katatonia, Danzig, Kreator, Alice Cooper, Cataract, Hypocrisy, Heaven Shall Burn, Crowbar, The Haunted, Finntroll, Sentenced, Maroon, Neaera, Emil Bulls, Volbeat, Farmer Boys, Harmful, Paradise Lost, Pro Pain, Prong, Caliban, Soilent Green, Moonspell, Eye God Hate, Brainstorm and End of Green.
