Melbourne metalcore outfit, Vatic, return with a final single, “Dead End“, from their forthcoming haunted-house-inspired sophomore EP, ‘Mercer 217‘, out next Friday October 21. The band also announce they’ll share their new material live at a hometown EP launch show on Friday November 18.

“Dead End” is the last single from the 8-track EP and signifies a departure from the haunted setting of 217 East Mercer. The environment shifts from the house to within a vehicle, where protagonist Chance is on the move, as seen in the video produced and directed in-house by Vatic guitarist Dinesh Wolfe. Hiding from the police from the safety of his car, Chance eventually succumbs to darkness and opts against escape, experiencing stockholm syndrome for the once traumatising murder house, deciding to return back to his place of torment.

Vatic announced they will be showcasing their dark new collection in full on Friday November 18 at The Evelyn Hotel for The Mercer 217 Release Show, with special guests Heartline (ADL), SIGNV/S (ADL) and .afterthought. Tickets on sale now via Oztix.

Produced, mixed and mastered by Nick Sjogren (Thornhill), “Dead End” joins leading singles “217”, “No Sleep” and “The Colour In Your Eyes” as the fourth teaser from the upcoming EP. Having collected over 75,000 digital streams and counting already as well as radio play from Kerrang UK, both triple j The Racket and triple j short.fast.loud and community radio nationwide, ‘Mercer 217’ is set to be a staple in Vatic’s timeline.

Each single has been met with Spotify playlisting on release from Homegrown + Heavy, All New Metal, Nik Nocturnal’s Modern Metal Playlist and Knotfest Festival’s curated playlist Pulse Of The Maggots.
