Arise In Stability - The Future That Amnesiac Draws

“KON NICHI WA”! Well, that’s where my skills with regards to the Japanese language end, apart from the fine products they’ve given us over the years, and another fine product for which I’ve just discovered is Yokohama-based Metalcore/Thrash outfit Arise In Stability.

This 5 piece crew born out of the ashes of a legendary Japanese scene that has produced some of the best Hardcore bands of all time, has graced us with this 10 track, 1 hour in length album that has all the elements that would make their predecessors very proud. Although not as intense and vicious as the old school noise mongers, they definitely let us know that the Nippon-based newcomers are making a mark on the scene.

Members Hosuke Tanichi (Vocals), Masayoshi Onodera (Guitar), Genki Sano (Guitar/ Vocals), Hiroshi Mizuno (Bass), and Suguru Yamashita on the Drums show that playing this style you can bring different elements in and they don’t stick to the textbook. Most bands of this “Metalcore” genre sound the same, which I find immensely boring as they never seem to bring anything new to the table, same guitar sound, triggered drums, and vocals that after 2 songs you wanna put a toothpick through your eyeball, but Arise In Stability are different from other bands. These guys just bring a new edge, Hosuke’s vocals are awesome, from Chris Barnes sounding guttural to pitch-perfect toned, to screaming lung coughing noise, comfortably backed up by an excellent band that is well rehearsed in Thrash, Hardcore, and Jazz.

I can’t give you a lot with regards to lyrical content as it’s in Japanese, which is bloody sweet, as it just sounds cool and doesn’t take anything away from what your hearing, just gives it a more unique sound, plus look at the title of the 5th song, only a Japanese band could pull that off!!

Arise In Stability are better than most of the bands of similar sound that I’ve heard, ever, for an album that’s an hour-long it’s a great listen and doesn’t get boring or it doesn’t get too much as their ability to take you off on a different tangent with each song keeps you interested for the long haul. I highly recommend Aussie listeners give these guys a shot as they match or better most of the bands within this subgenre that I’ve heard to come out of Australia, it’s different, it’s new and it’s definitely Japanese, enjoy, or should I say “SAYONARA YUGIN”!
