Doom metal, with a thick guitar tone, smooth keyboards, and a voice that comes from the depths of the singer’s most recluse life experiences.
There is also a perfect balance between the elements that have been incorporated into this release, all of which are executed perfectly: the chugs are heavy, the keyboards are just the perfect amount, and the folkloric instruments flavor the whole thing just the right amount.
Sometimes, experimentations go wrong, either for the lack of technical ability, or the exaggeration of experimentation. But on this release, the risk taken is just the right amount, going out of the comfort zone, but not too far so that you can’t come back to it.
This album is ultimately the perfect example of how experimentation in metal should go.
