Metal-Roos: Welcome Jake let me ask you first up how the tour has been so far?
Awesome man only played Perth and just finished Adelaide and the turn outs have been pretty good and the shows have been unreal.
Metal-Roos: … especially for a show on a Wednesday night.
Exactly, man, it has been really exciting for a mid week show, oh man Origin, just completely destroy everything, stage dives, intense brutality, you need to catch them.
Metal-Roos: Speaking of Origin how did you manage to get on the tour, you must be stoked with that!
Last July we toured with Origin in Japan and from that we started working together with their management. From there we found out that they were coming to Australia and we hooked that up as well.
Metal-Roos: I can’t go without saying, Lochlan Watt (from Triple Js The Racket) the vocalist, how did that come about working with him?
Probably about 3 or so months ago, before we went to Asia again in April, we lost our original vocalist who was on Prophetic. We had a fill in for Asia who was Dan Grainger from Perth and it just worked out that Lochlan was free this week. He is a singer and is amazing, so he jumped on board.
Metal-Roos: So I’m guessing that with him there isn’t anything permanent, seeing as he is a presenter on Triple J?
Yeah, nothing permanent, we’re just taking our time with all of that.
Metal-Roos: So tell me about your album Prophetic, how have sales gone and the recording process of it all?
Yeah, really well, it definitely puts us out there more. At the moment it is available for free download on bandcamp, so we’re trying to spread it out as much as possible. We are about half way through pre-production and writing for the second album, so basically we’re just focusing on that and getting the first album out to as many as possible.
Metal-Roos: You mentioned the second album, how is all of that going so far?
Yeah, at the moment we’re really taking our time with that. Like Prophetic was recorded years ago and that material was written when we were in high school. And now we are four or five years out of high school and it has been a long time since we released material so we’re really focusing on the new album. It’s gonna be a huge step up from Prophetic.
Metal-Roos: Sweet, so just to wrap it up, is there anything you would like to say?
Check us out on all the social site, on Facebook, follow us and there will be new music soon and new tours.
Metal-Roos: Thank you very much, Jake, I hope the rest of the tour goes just as well, and you’re well received around the place.
Cheers Check out Eternal Rest out on tour now with Origin, download their album Prophetic free on bandcamp. Follow them on Facebook. Check them out. \m/
