Oath Of Damnation – Fury and Malevolence (Album Review)

These guys are a Brutal Blackened Death Metal Band from Adelaide, South Australia. This album, Fury and Malevolence, is making me want more. I didn’t want this album to end. From Constantino’s super brutal blasts to the insane speed of Nekromancer’s guitar and Doomsayer’s super low and highs… even the evil yet melodic sounds of Haemorth’s Keys just bring it all together. Even with all this speed throughout these 7 insanely brutal tracks, there’s a groove to it that will get you up out of you’re seat and blown through the concrete wall behind you.

Let’s start with the opening track, Imhullu. I first thought this is creepy. Then some nice clean guitars kicked in and I thought ok this is cool different but cool. Next, it started to build up and up cracking the portal to hell wide open spewing forth chaos upon the earth. The Abortuary started and it gave me a slight Nile and old school Dimmu feel with a cool melodic solo section towards the end. I absolutely loved that. Ardenti Haereticus makes me want to walk into hell and claim my throne. Or create my own hell and unleash it upon the world. The keys and guitars just work so well together on this track.

With Fire And Malevolence – at this point, I wish I had the lyrics in front of me. I’m loving this song by far one of the best on the album the picking on the guitar is exceptionally insane. Especially the solo towards the end of the song just hits the eardrums like a hot knife in butter. It’s so good kicking into To Crack The Earth And Bring Down The Sky – with an amazing display of key work.

I mentioned groove in the beginning. That riff if I could do but the Italian hands in the writing I would because it would sum that riff up perfectly… you’ll understand when you hear it. In Death’s Dominion, starts off with a Cradle Of Filth vibe. Then the track cracks into blasts and yet more amazing guitar work hands down to these guys. They should be touring the world with the rest of them. There’s even a little bit of clean singing to top it off.

To be honest there’s nothing wrong with clean vocals in extreme metal. The last track, I Curse Thee, O’Lord!, all I can say about this track is WOW! This is earth crumbling. On the knees begging for mercy from the chaos Oath Of Damnation have unleashed. Win Diggers casino is a pretty great gambling website in the UK.
