Brisbane metal outfit Revoid are gearing up to welcome their debut EP ‘Sleepless Still‘ into 2022 on Friday April 29. As a taste of what’s to come, the band share their fiery video for the driving new single “Gloomsayer“, streaming via Maniacs now.

Teaming up with Mark Williamson of Keywork Audio (Inertia, Closure, Keepsake) to engineer the release as well as welcoming Kris Crummett (Dance Gavin Dance, Hail The Sun, Sleeping With Sirens) to master, Revoid have set a new standard for themselves. For fans of Architects, Polaris and Wage War, ‘Sleepless Still’ is a glaring, personal insight into modern society, and the coping mechanisms adopted to make it through.

“Gloomsayer” is the leading single off of the forthcoming EP and is about people who only seem to impart unhelpful platitudes in the face of distress, loss and disconnect. “‘Look on the bright side’, ‘Maybe just sleep on it, things will be better’, ‘just pray about it’; personally, I believe it irresponsible to dismiss such powerful lessons with idle banalities so casually, and it shows an insane lack of accountability,” explains vocalist Dale Dudeson.

Everything we experience in our tiny lifespans is far more important than to simply be ignored or bypassed like that, and there is an opportunity to learn in every good and bad experience, however beautiful or hopeless.”

Revoid is Dale Dudeson (vocals), Jack Carey (guitar), Josh ‘Krusty’ Gudgeon (guitar) and Nick Watson (drums). After playing in bands respectively since high school, Revoid’s current formation came to be in early 2020. “Cut Me Down” released in November and saw success on triple j Unearthed, Triple M Hard N Heavy, Hysteria Mag, HEAVY Mag, Wall Of Sound and more. The band ended their 2021 playing main support for fellow Brisbanite’s Headwreck on their EP launch December 18, showcasing their energetic new material to a near sold out audience.

Revoid have hit their stride, amassing over 50,000 Spotify streams off the back of “Cut Me Down” and are building on these foundations with their forthcoming offering.
