Surged Fate – Psychotic Perception (Single Review)

Release Date: December 22nd 2021 - Independent

Surged Fate’s debut single sounds promising, as the young band asserts the way they want to play metal in very clear terms.

It is a very slow tune, where you can feel the effort was put on the text, and the band’s convictions, as the lyrical content displays a great deal of talent, in terms of semantic richness.

It also seems that the song was built around the vocals, and not the other way around, which you usually see in a metal band.

Either that, or the vocal lines were very well designed to fit the song, but both ways, it shows creativity.

There is not much to say about the guitar parts, as the riffs are very simple, concise, and straight forwards, and so are the other instruments, gravitating around the vocals, which are using a lot of technique and different influences.

The production could be better, as the drums are overwhelming, and the song is a bit too artificial sounding for my taste, with guitar tones too generic and not tweaked enough, but it’s a debut effort to salute, and a project to carry onto higher grounds.
