So I begin my 2022 by launching into this Doom Metal Treat. The opening track the longest night opens with a plentiful smorgasbord of massive riffs!!!! Lots of familiar vibes that make me think of Kyuss & Mastodon but with some more black metal-sounding licks here and there.
I really like the potential and idea of the vocal, but I feel like the DIY approach didn’t help it sound as cinematic as the instruments. Taking the recording for what it is I can still deeply appreciate what the band’s putting on the table and I feel it’s definitely worth a listen.
If you like: If you like your doom metal but wish it was a bit more diverse from time to time, then I recommend giving this a listen. Lots of great ideas and massive Guitar and Drum Parts.
Haters be like: The humble demo production doesn’t enhance the theatrical potential that this body of work has when listened to at home. For me though, it’s definitely enough to keep an eye out for any shows or future releases they have.
